Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia - PCFA Cup
The annual Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) Cup match was held in the round 7 clash in Over 50s Div 2 between top sides Clifton Hill Navy and Kew. The match was played at Ramsden Street Oval and Pavilion. The match was played in very windy conditions, that proved challenging for both sides. Once again it was an enthralling contest played in great spirit by both clubs. Batting and bowling proved very difficult in the conditions. Both sides pulled off some great run outs at crucial stages of the match. A total of 5 run outs resulted from some excellent fielding by both sides.
At the half way mark it looked like Clifton Hill Navy’s total of 133 all out would not be enough. All present enjoyed an excellent afternoon tea provided by Clifton Hill Navy. Kew started well in their chase, and appeared in control when 2-67 early in their innings. Clifton Hill’s bowlers stepped up and together with some excellent fielding they fought their way back into the game. In the end the margin was 11 runs in Clifton Hill Navy’s favour. Both clubs celebrated the occasion with a refreshing drink or two.
Prior to the match and again afterwards Prostate Cancer and getting checked was mentioned. Remember it is so important that players get themselves checked regularly. You owe it to yourself, your wife or partner, your children, your relatives and your friends. Not only can you get checked via blood tests for Prostate cancer, but also don’t forget to visit your doctor, if you have any health issues or concerns. Think of your loved ones.
