AWCC 1/173 d Edinburgh 9/120
At Ferndale Reserve, Ashburton Willows were invited to bat by Edinburgh at the toss. A brilliant opening partnership between Ishar Manj (50* ret. from 71) and skipper Shray Sahni (50* ret. from 60) and then a brisk cameo by Nathan Riedler (31* from 27) set an imposing 173 for Edinbugh. Samuel Gordon (0/15 from 4) bowled well and was the most economical of the Edinbugh bowlers. In reply, Edinburgh opener Harvey Darvall (55* ret. from 84) played an excellent innings, but the scoreboard pressures showed as the other batters struggled against some excellent bowling and fielding.
Camberwell Magpies 3/148 d 8/147
At Anderson Park, home side Camberwell Magpies also elected to field to make the most of the the mild conditions of the morning of a forecast scorcher. Opening bowler Eamon Hersom (1/7 from 3) grabbed an early wicket and Knox were in a bit of strife at 4/43. However an excellent fightback lead by skipper Yuvraj Singh (55* ret. off 61), Shivam Gadani, (39 from 40) and Vice Captain Pranay Sharma (21*) saw Knox post a healthy 147. The Knox bowlers created some early chances, lead by Svanik Gundu (2/26) and had the Magpies at 3/55. But an exceptional parternship between Magpies Skipper Tom Forrest (44*) and Callum Lehmann (51*) saw the Magpies home.
