VMCU Carnival Day 2: Junior Girls make it three from three

Another perfect Cricket Day for our Junior VMCU Representatives

The second playing day of the VMCU Carnival was again packed with action. The weather turned it on once more, and although the mercury started to climb in the afternoon, there was no less energy being spent by the players at the three matches we visited.

It was so pleasing to see the players getting support from family and friends.  The shaded areas at Highfield Park (Under 18 Boys), Ferndale Park (Under 12 Boys - Browne Shield) and at Stradbroke Park (Under 14 Boys - Allan Shield) were the places to be for specatators.

A huge shout out to the girls - all three sides had fantastic wins today.  The Under 12s had a great away win against the MPCA in Frankston.  Skipper Isobel was the star with 40ret and taking 5/4 in her four overs. Co-Captain Olive made 30ret and picked up a wicket. Holly (14*) and Ava (15*) pushed the score to 168. Our bowling attack was just too strong rolling the hosts for 65.

The Under 14s posted a massive 2/296 at Elgar Park against Hosts the BHRDCA. the top order fired; Vice Captain Elodie (51ret), Skipper Lola (53 ret) and Prachi (40ret). Our bowlers were excellent, restricting the hosts to 119 - wiht Hanna picking up 2 wickets.

The Under 17s made it a hat-trick of away wins - defeating DVCA at Rosanna.A great batting effort posting 4/229 with Bianca (61ret) and skipper Emily (50ret) the stars. A great team- bowling effort restriceted the hosts to 9/98 from their 40 - Morgan was the star with the ball picking up 4/11 from her 7 overs.
