Suraj Kaluhalamulla Wins the 2024-25 Dunstan Medal

Edinburgh Captain, Suraj Kaluhalamulla has won the Dunstan Medal for season 2024-25. The Dunstan Medal is awarded to the best player in Dunstan Shield as voted for by the umpires in a 3-2-1 format at the conclusion of every match.

Suraj was also name Captain of the Dunstan Shield team of the Season and won the bowling averages for the grade.

Including finals, Suraj scored 621 runs for the season at an average of 51.75 and took 34 wickets at 10.67 in Dunstan Shield.

He was interviewed by Daniel Harford at the Annual Presentation Awards night at Kooyong. The modest former Sri Lankan international spoke highly about the standard of Dunstan Shield. He acknowledged the wonderful support he receives from the club. Suraj won the Medal count by a clear margin with 30 votes. His nearest rival was North Balwyn’s Nitesh Patel with 15 votes and Glen Iris' Lachy Holmes with 12.
