Round 4 Wrap EGWC Women

Fortunately for the Eastern Girls and Womens Competition (the EGWC), Saturday's deluge stopped in time to allow grounds to dry off so games could get started (and completed) on Sunday. The Women competition comprises two grades - the Senior Women A,and the Senior Women Social. Matches are played on Sunday's. The Girls competition is played on Wednesday evenings. The EGWC comprises teams from clubs affiliated with the ECA and the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association respectively.
We have been able to get to a number of matches in both the Girls and Women's competitions so far this season.
In the social competition, St Kevins Old Boys were too strong for Kerrimuir United Blue in a very competive match played at Kerrimuir's ground at Springfield Reserve.
A bit further up the road, a depleted Old Carey had to forfeit their match against Kerrimuir United White - but all credit to KU & OC for hastily arranging a T10 scratch match. The players got some valuable centre-wicket time.
In other matches, North Aphington got home on the last ball in a thriller against Deepdene Bears Green, Bulleen Templestowe held on against Deepdene Bears Gold, while Mazenod comfortably overtook the target against Burwood at home at the College.
In the Senior Women A grade, top side Hawthorn had to sit out with the Bye. Koonung Heights scored a great home win on a milestone day for the club against Heathmont. We are still waiting for scores to finalise on the Clifton Hill v Nunawading game.
