On Sunday, February 4, John played his 300th senior game for the Boronia Cricket Club.

John first joined the Boronia Cricket Club as captain/coach for the 1997/98 season. He served in this position for several years before stepping down from his role, until the 2004/05 season where he
again stepped up to captain the 1st XI to an eventual premiership. John would go on to play 90 games in the 1sts, scoring 1778 runs at 23.71.
After stepping down from playing 1st XI cricket for the 2010/11 season, John went on to captain our 2nd XI before taking on the same role in our 3rd XI which would eventually become our Sunday turf team.

Across all grades, John recently passed 5000 runs at a healthy average of 25.96. Equally as importantly for the club, John has also served as a long term committee member, filling various roles over his time at the club, including a stint as Vice President. In 2012 he was bestowed the honour of being made a life member of the club. He has also been active in the ECA delegate space, and more recently has taken up umpiring – a true cricket tragic!

We would like to congratulate John on this enormous achievement, and thank him for his contribution both on and off the field. We also sincerely hope he adds many more games in the years to come.
