ECA seeking applications for the position of full time General Manager

The Eastern Cricket Association (ECA) is the peak body for over sixty (60) cricket clubs, across a major portion of metropolitan Melbourne and is affiliated with the Victorian Metropolitan Cricket Union (VMCU).

The General Manager, (our first full-time employee) will lead, inspire, and implement the strategic vision for cricket across the broader eastern and surrounding suburbs of Melbourne.

The General Manager, (our first full-time employee) will lead, inspire, and implement the strategic vision for cricket across the broader eastern and surrounding suburbs of Melbourne.

You will develop and foster effective collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, offering exciting opportunities across a variety of competitions and pathways for seniors - women and men, mixed juniors, girls, and veterans.

Reporting to the President and ECA Executive, you will continue the strong connection with their Member Clubs and drive innovation ensuring cricket’s popularity, growth, and development.

  • You will have extensive experience working closely with a sport organisation’s executive in a market-driven environment requiring flexibility within the working day.
  • You are a strategically minded leader with a high degree of empathy and an ability to manage complex relationships with a broad range of stakeholder groups.
  • In addition to an impressive record of organisational and time management, you will have excellent communication and people skills, a solid knowledge of cricket administration, any dispute resolution and fixturing and ideally having exposure to the PlayHQ & Officials HQ software.
  •  Ideally, you will have tertiary qualifications in sports management, experience of working with LGA’s, media skills and exposure to accounting software (MYOB).

A passion for cricket is a given, availability to commence this role in July 2024 is ideal.
