Suspensions, Cautions, Bonds (as at 27th March 2023)

Current Suspensions

Matthew Holden (Northcote United) – Showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action.

  • Suspended for round 1 of the 23/24 season (including if it is rescheduled)

  • An additional 1 match suspended sentence – ending at the completion of the 23/24 season.

Ruben Muhunthan (Hartley) - Captain failing to control players.

  • Suspended for rounds 1 and 2 of the 23/24 season (including if they are rescheduled)

  • An additional 2 match suspended sentence – ending at the completion of the 23/24 season.

Jathursan Nadesalingam (Hartley) - showing dissent at an Umpire’s decision by word or action.

  • Suspended until 31st December 2023

  • An additional 11 match suspended sentence – ending on 31st December 2024

Pasindu Wathudura (Melbourne Sixers) - Threatening to assault a player (with a cricket stump and verbally)

  • Misconduct which, in the opinion of the Tribunal, is of an inappropriate and dangerous manner (grabbing a cricket stump out of the ground)

  • Using language or gesture to another player that, in the circumstances, is obscene, abusive or insulting.

  • 18.5 month suspension ending on 31st December 2023

  • Specifically related to any Kew Captain (in all ECA grades) who is found guilty of failing to control players or breaches the ECA Code of Behaviour (conduct).

Monash - $500 bond (expires at the end of the 2022/23 season).

  • Relating to the incidents on 5th November B Synthetic game. Breach of code of conduct and Spirit of Cricket. If any player from the club is found guilty of an offence that results in a game suspension, the bond will be forfeited.

Mt Waverley Uniting - $500 bond (expires 31st December 2023).

  • Relating to the incidents on 5th November B Synthetic game. Breach of code of conduct and Spirit of Cricket. If any player from the club is found guilty of an offence that results in a game suspension, the bond will be forfeited.

Richmond Union CC - $2,000.00 bond (expires the end of the 2023/2024 season).

  • $1000.00 of the bond is to be paid within 7 days of the date of this email and the balance is to be suspended for the period of the bond on the condition that there are no further behaviour issues and in particular if they relate to Mr Rainbow. Furthermore, if there is any such re-occurrence then the bond maybe forfeited.
