We are pleased to announce the squad for the Under 12 ECA squad for the upcoming 2024 VMCU carnival. The selectors were humbled by the amount of talent on display with a record number 36 players available for selection. A big thank you to all the clubs and players that contributed and participated in the trial process.

The squad is:

'Cricket Victoria this week celebrates national Women and Girls Week, with a jam-packed schedule of female cricket activity culminating with a weekend of women’s cricket on the MCG.'

The key takeaway from the above article by Cricket Victoria was that, 'last season in Victoria there were '31,213 women and girls playing cricket, which included an incredible 93% year-on-year increase in Woolworths Cricket Blast (cricket’s entry level program) participation by girls.'

Across this week, Cricket Victoria will be celebrating with a number of events including:

• Cricket Victoria’s Girls Leadership Program (Developed in conjunction with former Victorian/Australian cricketer Belinda Clark AO and her company The Leadership Program and which takes place during the Melbourne Derby between the Melbourne Stars and the Melbourne Renegades at the MCG on Saturday night (25/11/23).
• On Sunday November 26, Victorian Premier Cricket’s Women’s Competition will play on the MCG for the first time in history when Melbourne’s women’s 1st XI will host Box Hill Cricket Club in a One Day game.

We encourage all ECA girls aged 11-13 to join in this Melbourne Stars Holiday Clinic. With one being hosted in Ringwood, it should be easily accessible for anyone in the Eastern suburbs.
