Donvale Under 18s claim the Hamilton Shield flag - Northcote United push the match all the way in the run chase

Brief match summary

Donvale 7/226 d Northcote United 189

Congratulations to Donvale in taking out the Under 18 SJ Hamilton Shield for Season 2023-24. A 135 run, third wicket partnership between Donvale Captain Aaron Abeyesekera (92 from 105) and Abhikaran Singh Chhina (60 from 81) proved the difference between the two sides.
Both teams have played an attacking and positive brand of cricket this season, so while Donvale's 224 would be enough in a Grand Final against most sides, Northcote United were always going to have a dip. A blistering 92 in 82 balls by Northcote United's opener Thomas Sweetman (including eight 6's) gave his side a chance. But thanks to excellent bowling,Northcoted United were always just behind in the chase.
Hayden and Thomas Kenny grabbed three wickets each for the visitors, and Abhikaran Singh Chhina took three for the winners.
