Rob Tongue Plays Game 300 for Hawthorn in Webster Shield Semi Final

Rob Tongue celebrated his 300th senior game for Hawthorn CC In the ECA Vets Division 2 clash against Burwood CC on 11th February, 2024.
Recognised as one of Hawthorn’s greatest all-rounders, the former Dunstan
Medallist (2009/10) is a stylish right hand bat and equally gifted pace bowler. He is widely respected as a humble gentleman of the game. Following in the footsteps of his father and ECA Legend, Tony Tongue, Rob has also been a tireless contributor for the Hawks as a Blasters Co-ordinator, Junior and Senior Coach or Senior Section Manager across three decades.
Rob played 56 Junior games for the then West Hawthorn CC, averaging 28.4 with bat and 16.2 with the ball.
In his 300 games he has compiled 6,742 runs including a highest score of 160 in Dunstan Shield, 7 centuries, at an average of 30.23. Rob has also taken 472 wickets @
18.75, with best figures of 7/23. Statistics which would be envious to any cricketer.
Awarded Life Membership of HCC in 2014, Rob has captained the First XI across four
seasons, won 3 Premierships, been Club Champion 5 times, won the Dunstan batting
average twice and was included in the ECA Turf Team of the Decade in 2010/11.
