Senior Mixed - One Day Games & ‘Fill-In’ Players
Dear Presidents & Secretaries, Umpires & Executive,
It has come to our attention that there may be some confusion throughout parts of the competition in relation to some rules for one day games, in particular in the LOC grades and ‘Fill-In’ players. To clarify these issues, please see below.
- Number of players that can be selected
- There have been multiple examples of clubs selecting/playing 12 or more players for one day games this season.
- Only 11 players can be selected in one day games (except for Sunday Turf) and PlayHQ is set to reflect this.
- The paper team sheets handed to the opposition captain and umpires when officiating, each game must accurately reflect this as should PlayHQ.
- If substitute fielders are involved in any dismissals, please notify us and we will reopen up the individual game to allow this information to be captured.
- Number of overs that can be bowled
- For LOC 1-5, F Turf and Sunday Turf games no bowler is permitted to bowl more than 8 overs in an innings (40 over games). This rule also applies for all ‘two day’ grades that play one day games.
- For LOC 6-9 no bowler is permitted to bowl more than 7 overs in an innings (36 over games).
- In the event of a bowler being unable to complete an over, the remaining balls will be allowed to be bowled by another bowler. Such part of an over will count as a full over in so far as each bowler’s limit is concerned.
- ‘Fill-In’ Players & Registration
- A player must be registered no later than 72 hours following the conclusion of the match in which the player first played or was named to play.
- If they play a subsequent match without being registered, they are playing as an unregistered player and furthermore would not be covered by insurance.
- The penalties for not meeting the abovementioned requirements are set out in rules 11.3.2 - 11.3.5.
- If the match is the last home and away match the player must be registered no later than 24 hours following the conclusion of the match.
- Games played by ‘Fill-In’ players will naturally not be counted towards eligibility for finals selection.
